Childhood Friends Team for 'Capote'

The just-released film Capote goes behind the writing of the classic true-crime story, In Cold Blood.

Capote, based on the biography by Gerald Clarke and starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the title role, explores how Truman Capote came to tell the story of murder in Kansas and the two killers eventually brought to justice. Capote originally went to cover the story fo The New Yorker magazine and eventually became so obsessed with it that he turned it into a best-selling book.

Dan Futterman, an actor known for roles on Judging Amy and Will & Grace, wrote the screenplay. He and director Bennett Miller, childhood friends who teamed up to make the movie, talk with Linda Wertheimer.
