How Legrand Gold got a call from the Queen of Country Dolly Parton

LEILA FADEL, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Leila Fadel.

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU")

DOLLY PARTON: (Singing) I wish you love.

FADEL: Legrand Gold just got a call from the Queen of Country.

(SOUNDBITE OF ARCHIVED RECORDING)

PARTON: Hey, LG.

LEGRAND GOLD: Hey.

PARTON: It's Dolly P.

FADEL: Gold made a bucket list after his terminal cancer diagnosis in 2021. He checked a lot off, but talking to Dolly Parton wasn't completed until the local news told his story. Parton told him she will always love him.
