1983 hit 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' surges on the Spotify charts

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART")

BONNIE TYLER: (Singing) Every now and then, I fall apart.

LEILA FADEL, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Leila Fadel. Maybe, just maybe, that total eclipse of Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler's heart can finally heal now that the solar eclipse has concluded. She's got good reason to - her 1983 hit "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" shot up the iTunes chart in the United States and received 50% more searches on Spotify in the week before the eclipse. (Singing) Turn around, bright eyes. You've got royalty checks.
