We talk with Mohamad Hafez, a Syrian-born architect living in New Haven. He creates miniature models of Syrian cityscapes that now reflect the civil war’s destruction of his native land.
We also hear from a Simsbury poet about her decision to travel to Jordan -- twice -- to teach poetry and art to Syrian refugee children.
Plus, how does the scale of the current refugee crisis compare with other periods of mass migration and what does the future hold? Ambassador William Lacy Swing will join us. He leads the International Organization for Migration.
