A Poet, A Limo Driver, And A Pastor Walk Into A Talk Show...

Colin McEnroe is taking a couple weeks off, so today Chion Wolf introduces you to three Connecticut residents who have careers in very different fields of expertise.

First, we meet Marilyn Nelson. She was the Poet Laureate of Connecticut between 2001 and 2006. She talks about one of her most difficult commissions -- a children’s book about the 1955 lynching of Emmett Till. And we hear about when and how she knew that poetry was the thing she’d be doing with her life.

Then Larry Elsner, who’s been driving limos for 40 years, tells us a few stories about driving famous people -- and dead people -- and we hear what makes him different than any other driver on the road.

Finally, we meet Bishop John Selders, who serves in the United Church of Christ, and is the co-founder of Moral Monday Connecticut. He talks about how he gets treated differently when he wears the collar, and about his fear and faith in this increasingly chaotic world.
