Tornado Confirmed In Somers, Conn.

A weak tornado touched down in Somers, Connecticut on Sunday evening. The National Weather Service reported it was an EF-0, which is the lowest possible rating on the scale.

It 75-yard-wide tornado traveled less then two miles between 6:11 p.m. and 6:18 p.m. No injuries were reported. Power was knocked out for some residents, but it has mostly been restored.

A trained weather spotter sent a tip to the National Weather Service about the tornado. It was confirmed by the Somers Fire Department, an eyewitness and several videos posted online.
