Five proposed bills are aimed at supporting local journalism in Connecticut. Rep. Kate Farrar, D-West Hartford, has sponsored all of the bills as part of an effort to bring the decline of local news in Connecticut to the attention of the state legislature.

The cost of food and other essential items has risen. Services such as food pantries continue to grow in popularity as people feel the effects of increased costs.
